Bernar Venet, Ceysson & Bénétière, Indefinite Line © Studio Rémi Villaggi
Until 27 July, the Ceysson & Bénétière gallery presents the exhibition "Wandhaff" in Luxembourg, which features Bernar Venet's drawings and sculptures.
Born in 1941, Bernar Venet recently benefited from retrospectives at the museums of contemporary art in Lyon and Nice, and the publication of a monograph devoted to his drawings, the text of which is by Bernard Ceysson. The Ceysson & Bénétière du Luxembourg gallery thus devotes 1300 m² to some 40 recent works, including arches, reliefs and drawings. Bernar Venet not only exhibited in 1966 with Jacques Lepage, theoretician of Supports / Surfaces, but his career shows other points in common with these artists, just as Orlan, recently entered the gallery. They both represent French art from the 1960s or 1970s, underestimated and then back on the scene. However, the rating Bernar Venet has never stopped progressing and his works were betting, today, from 70 000 € for small formats.
